Each year for the past five years, our second-year students have created a film for the Clermont-Ferrand International short film Festival. This has been an important moment for these students because it is a team effort with everyone working to support the same film. It is also the first major project they see through from start to finish, conception to completion. As an added bonus, the film is in 3-D!

Dive into the universe of “Microcosmos” and evolve in an animated film peopled by insects. This is the interactive experience ArtFx students will provide for you during the Workshop of the Clermont Short Film Festival.

The 39th edition of the Angoulême International Comics Festival will be held from January 26 to 29. Just like in previous years, ArtFx will be present. Students from ArtFx will create a photographic and video journal of this not-to-be-missed event, and ArtFx student creations will be projected at the Soleil publisher’s stand.

It is within the framework of the recent “Rencontres Animation Formation (Animation Training Conference)” in Angoulême that 15 schools announced the creation of the French Network of Cinema Animation (RECA) which took affect on January 1, 2012. ArtFx is a member of this network and I have personally worked on designing training tools to help facilitate this collaboration.

The third edition of ‘Rencontres Animation Formation (Animation Training Conference)’ was held in Angoulême. These meetings allow Animation studios and schools to discuss the state of the profession and the evolution of this field. It is a chance to have frank and direct conversations in a friendly yet advancement-driven environment. This is also an occasion to make note of principal indicators within this sector.
